An expected-goals line of 4.41 tells the story of a side that did not so much beat Scotland as dismantle them, and Vinicius Junior was the artist-in-chief: a goal inside seven minutes, a second on the stroke of half-time, the game decided before the interval. Matheus Cunha added the third just after the hour. Twenty shots, nine on target, a performance with no soft edges. Scotland kept swinging, but some afternoons you simply meet a better team at its very best.
