    Tunisia 15 Sweden

Tunisia actually edged possession in Monterrey, and for a moment in the first half they had something to hold onto. Omar Rekik's goal just before the break, made by Hannibal Mejbri, drew them level on the scoreboard if not the contest. But against a squad worth six times their own, the margins were unforgiving, and Sweden's finishing turned a competitive afternoon into a five-goal one. Two shots on target tells the story of a side that had the ball but rarely the cutting edge. The goal was theirs to keep.

Full time · The Report A chastening night

    Tunisia 04 Japan

There is no dressing this one up: Tunisia were second to everything against a Japan side that was simply better in every line. Two shots, none on target, an expected-goals figure of 0.05 — the attack never got going, and by the time Kamada struck in the opening minutes the afternoon already had a steep hill to climb. Four goals conceded is a hard night to file. But tournaments turn quickly, and the group is not lost on the strength of one chastening ninety minutes. They will be judged on how they answer it.

    Tunisia 13 Netherlands

Two down inside seven minutes is the kind of start that can break a team. An own goal and a Brian Brobbey strike left Tunisia chasing a Netherlands ranked eighth in the field before they had found their feet. But there was real defiance in the response: Hazem Mastouri pulled one back just past the hour, Hannibal Mejbri supplying, and a goalkeeper who made four saves kept the deficit from ballooning. The gap in quality was plain, and three goals conceded is a hard ledger. Yet Tunisia kept playing, and that counts for something.

Friendship blends realized national co-starts with a club-chemistry bonus, so a settled XI and a club-spine squad both score high. Near 100 the total eases so the most-settled squads stay separated rather than all tying out. Gold lines trace the spine: teammates who share a club right now.
