    Canada 11 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Behind early, on top throughout, and level by the end through sheer persistence. Lukic put Bosnia ahead in the twenty-first minute, but Canada owned the ball with sixty-one percent and forced nine corners before Cyle Larin, set up by Jonathan David, found the equaliser in the seventy-eighth. The xG of 1.23 to 0.96 reflects an afternoon they shaped more than they were allowed to win. A point that felt like less than the performance deserved. They will take it, and want more.

Full time · The Report Six, and a David hat-trick

    Canada 60 Qatar

Canada were irresistible from the first whistle. Larin opened inside sixteen minutes, David had his second before the half-hour, and from there it was less a contest than an exhibition. David completed his hat-trick at the death, with Saliba and an own goal rounding out a 6-0 that the expected goals — 4.11 to 0.18 — barely flatter. Thirty shots, seventy-nine percent of the ball, eighteen corners: as complete a night as this team has had, and a forward who will remember it forever.

    Canada 12 Switzerland

Canada will struggle to understand how they lost this. They carried the game — thirteen shots to six, seven on target to four, an expected-goals edge of 1.27 to 1.06 — and were undone by a ruthless Swiss quarter-hour. Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi struck either side of the hour, and suddenly a match Canada had shaped was two goals gone. Jonathan David's reply set up a finish that never quite arrived. There is no lesson here but the oldest one: territory and shots count for nothing beside the ones that go in.

    Canada 10 South Africa

Canada are into the last sixteen, and they did it the hard way. For ninety minutes South Africa, ranked fortieth in the field, defended deep and well, their goalkeeper turning aside everything Canada threw — five saves, and a clean sheet that looked like taking the tie to extra time. Then, two minutes into stoppage, Stephen Eustaquio found the gap. An expected-goals line of 1.32 to 0.13 says the win was deserved, even if it arrived with almost the last kick. Knockout football rewards the patient, and Canada go on.

    Canada 03 Morocco

The co-hosts had the possession, eleven corners and the crowd, and none of it mattered. Canada created 0.86 expected goals and could not convert their pressure into anything Morocco feared, while at the other end three chances became three goals. Abdelhamid Ounahi's brace and a late Soufiane Rahimi strike made the scoreline look brutal on a night Canada dominated the ball and lost the game. A home tournament ends with plenty of the play and nothing to show. Canada are out.

    Goals 50' A. Ounahi · 82' A. Ounahi · 90+8' S. Rahimi

Friendship blends realized national co-starts with a club-chemistry bonus, so a settled XI and a club-spine squad both score high. Near 100 the total eases so the most-settled squads stay separated rather than all tying out. Gold lines trace the spine: teammates who share a club right now.
