Nilson Angulo levelled by the ninth minute, and Gonzalo Plata won it in the seventy-seventh, sending MetLife into delirium. Germany threw everything at an equaliser and met an Ecuadorian goalkeeper, and a back line, that simply would not be moved. Two saves, a stack of blocks, and the nerve to chase down one of the favourites. Famous, and deserved.
