France 3–1 Senegal
For an hour this was tight, and then France remembered who they were. Kylian Mbappe broke it open in the sixty-sixth, Bradley Barcola doubled the lead, and Mbappe added a third at the death to settle it. Eight of eleven shots found the target, the kind of efficiency that turns a grind into a three-goal night. Senegal pulled one back in stoppage time through Ibrahim Mbaye, but it bothered no one. The favourites looked the part once it mattered, which was always the only question worth asking.

France 3–0 Iraq
This was the tournament's top seed moving through the gears, never troubled enough to find the highest one. Kylian Mbappé settled it early, turning in Michael Olise's cross in the 14th minute, and the contest was effectively over from there. He had his second just before the hour, Ousmane Dembélé made it three soon after, and France's goalkeeper finished the night without a save to make. Five shots on target to none tells the story of the gulf. Iraq will face kinder afternoons than this.

France 4–1 Norway
France were not the better side for long stretches, and it did not matter. Norway created the larger share of the chances — an expected-goals line of 1.69 to 1.31 in their favour — but Ousmane Dembele answered creativity with brutal efficiency, helping himself to a hat-trick inside thirty-two minutes. Thore Aasgaard's reply briefly steadied Norway, and Jorgen Larsen's missed penalty just after the break was the moment their resistance truly broke. Desire Doue added a fourth in the ninety-fourth. Eighteen shots, nine on target, four goals: this is what the world's most valued squad does to your mistakes.

Full time · The Report Everyone's problem
France 3–0 Sweden
The tournament's most valued side played like it, and Sweden could not live with them. France built an expected-goals line of 3.17 to 0.65 and hit twenty-five shots; Kylian Mbappé settled it on the stroke of half-time, Bradley Barcola doubled it, and Mbappé's second on seventy-four made it three. Only nine saves from the Sweden goalkeeper kept the margin this polite. This was a statement from the number-one seed. France march into the last sixteen looking like everyone's problem.

Full time · The Report Mbappé settles it from the spot
France 1–0 Paraguay
France controlled everything and still needed a penalty to settle it. Kylian Mbappé beat the goalkeeper from the spot on seventy minutes, once VAR had confirmed the award, and their command of the ball finally told. Paraguay defended for their lives, their goalkeeper busy and brave, but managed only a single shot on target all night. Not vintage from the tournament favourites, but knockout football rewards the side that takes its one clear chance. France march into the quarter-finals.

Full time · The Report Mbappé makes amends, France cruise
France 2–0 Morocco
France were relentless, and eventually Morocco could not hold. Kylian Mbappé missed a first-half penalty, but made amends after the break — finishing on the hour and turning provider for Ousmane Dembélé six minutes later. A Moroccan goalkeeper kept the score respectable with a string of saves; at the other end the pressure was almost total. Morocco's wonderful tournament ends here, worn down by the most dangerous side in the competition. France stride into the semi-finals, and now they look the part.

Friendship blends realized national co-starts with a club-chemistry bonus, so a settled XI and a club-spine squad both score high. Near 100 the total eases so the most-settled squads stay separated rather than all tying out. Gold lines trace the spine: teammates who share a club right now.
